Chiropractic is a specialized field in the healing arts, and such, the spinal adjustment is distinct and singular to the chiropractic profession. The purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to correct spinal misalignments, thereby removing interference to the spine and nervous system.
Definitely not! In fact, people often describe a sense of relaxation, reduced level of stress, a sense of exhilaration, more range of motion and a feeling of more body balance after an adjustment.
The techniques we use in our office are very gentle and innovative; we use state-of-the-art ‘drop’ tables. With the adjusting techniques we use, there is no twisting or cracking involved; the only noise is from the table moving underneath you. Our patients continuously comment on how gentle their adjustments feel.
After your detailed initial consultation and examination, we are very well acquainted with your spine and nervous system health; as a result, your adjustments or treatment usually only take a few minutes. The analysis we use every time you see us allows us to know when your body is in balance. We monitor the progress of our patients very carefully to make sure their health is being restored. We understand that you are busy, and thus try to run our appointment book on time.
This answer is different for every patient. Many things determine how long your treatment plan will be. Your treatment plan is dependent on things such as how long your condition has been developing, your age, physical fitness, overall health, nutrition, daily tasks/job, and how much spinal decay (wear and tear) is present. A general rule of thumb is, the longer the underlying problem has been there, the longer it usually takes to fix. Of course, it is always up to you how long you decide to benefit from chiropractic.
