As a teenager, chronic migraines were the reason Dr. Jon Saunders first sought chiropractic care. That experience would ultimately shape the direction of his career.
“I understand what a patient feels like when they are not well because I started out as a patient myself,” says Dr. Jon Saunders. “Experiencing firsthand what chiropractic care could do for me has helped me develop a strong sense of empathy for the patient sitting across from me in the exam room.”
Dr. Jon’s early experience as a chiropractic patient, combined with the clinical experience he gained during his training and internship, fostered the compassionate approach he brings to patient care today.
Today, Dr. Jon is the clinic director of Chiropractic on Eagle in Newmarket, Ontario, where he has been helping patients improve their spinal health and overall well-being for more than two decades.
Dr. Jon established his chiropractic clinic, now known as Chiropractic on Eagle, in Newmarket after graduating with honours from the renowned Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto.
He received the Lloyd Pennington Memorial Award for achieving the highest overall admissions score for his applicant year.
Prior to studying chiropractic, Dr. Jon earned his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from McMaster University, where he graduated with distinction.
His background in kinesiology provides a strong foundation for understanding how the spine, muscles, and nervous system work together to support movement and overall health.
During his internship, Dr. Jon had the opportunity to work at the Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto, a busy multidisciplinary clinic serving a diverse downtown population.
This experience allowed him to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions while working with patients from many different backgrounds and life situations. It was here that Dr. Jon developed a deeper appreciation for the role compassionate healthcare plays in improving quality of life.
