Apples and oranges. They are both round, they are fruit and taste great. But they are completely different.
The same is true about chiropractic and medicine. Both involve people, they are a form of health care and can have great effects. Looking in from the outside I can see how people would see them to be similar, but yet they are completely different.
First let’s look at a few major differences:
This is not a list to choose one over the other. Chiropractic and Medicine should not be viewed as competition. Rather they should be looked at as complementary.
Both are integral to a healthy life but recognizing that there is a time and place for each is important.
If you get hit by a car don’t show up at your chiropractor’s office. We are fortunate enough to have access to amazing Medical Doctor’s and life saving technology and techniques that can literally save your life.
On the other hand if you have nagging migraines that show up weekly and you are taking a pill, you will get symptomatic improvement but you will never help what’s causing the migraines in the first place.
Your Chiropractor and Medical Doctor should both be supportive in whatever decisions you make about your health. Their ego should not be involved.
One thing that is true with both is if your Chiropractor or Medical Doctor is not supportive of your decisions and look at your as a number rather than a person first, it may be time to find a new one!
